Professional Development of Chemistry Teachers’ Subject and Pedagogical Competences

Berita Simonaitienė holds a PhD in Social Sciences (Education) and is an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at KTU. Her research focuses on learning strategies, curriculum management, teaching and learning, and educational interventions. She serves as an external evaluator for educational programs and teacher training programs. She is also a co-author of the influential document “Good School Concept” (2015, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania).

Dr. Eglė Arbačiauskienė is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), and Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry. Her research areas include medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and synthesis methods. Dr. Arbačiauskienė is also actively involved in science popularization and in preparing students for chemistry Olympiads.

Dr. Edita Paluckienė is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), teaching General Chemistry. She actively contributes to science popularization by organizing and implementing various projects and events. In addition, she is one of the authors of the book Chemistry: Theory and Problem Solving, designed for students studying technological sciences. Dr. Paluckienė is also actively involved in preparing students for chemistry Olympiads. Her students have achieved high results, including prize-winning places in Lithuanian Chemistry Olympiads and international competitions.

Dr. Kristina Kantminienė is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), teaching General Chemistry. She is also one of the authors of the book Chemistry: Theory and Problem Solving, designed for students studying technological sciences.
