Mathematics Education for (Exceptionally) Gifted Students in Grades 5–8

Lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), specializing in mathematics didactics and an active member of the educational community. Violeta Kravčenkienė is the author and co-author of the textbook “Mathematics 1: Linear Algebra and Mathematical Analysis”, designed for students learning the fundamentals of mathematics. She also participated in a study on the reasons for student dropout at the KTU Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, which was published in the Lithuanian Mathematical Journal.

Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), educational researcher, and active scholar and practitioner in the field of gifted and exceptionally gifted student education. She leads the KTU research group “Didactics of Mathematics and Education of Gifted Children and Youth,” whose work focuses on improving gifted student education, enhancing mathematics didactics, and fostering international collaboration in this field. She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles, monographs, and textbooks dedicated to gifted children’s education. Her book “Gifted Children: Challenges and Opportunities” presents a psychological and pedagogical framework for identifying, recognizing, and educating gifted students and is a valuable resource for teachers, educational students, researchers, and parents.

Associate Professor of Mathematics at Riga Technical University (RTU), working at the Faculty of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Electrical Engineering. She contributes to mathematics didactics and the development of creativity.

Oksana Odintsova holds a PhD in Physics and Mathematics, is an Associate Professor, and serves as the Head of the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Their Didactics at Sumy State Pedagogical University (Ukraine). Areas of Expertise: Mathematics Didactics – developing and applying teaching methods and strategies to improve mathematics instruction and student achievement. Critical Thinking Development – implementing innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance students’ abilities to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems. Improving Education Quality – active participation in projects and research aimed at enhancing educational systems and methodologies. Oksana Odintsova is recognized for her contributions to improving the quality of mathematics education and implementing educational innovations.
