Applications of Computer Aided Engineering Systems in Plastic Moulding

The programme is designed for professionals seeking theoretical knowledge and practical skills in applying computer-aided engineering analysis systems to plastic molding process simulations. Participants will explore all injection molding stages – filling, packing, cooling and warpage analysis as well as their impact on product quality and manufacturing efficiency. The training covers the most common defects, their causes and prevention methods, considering mold geometry, material rheological properties, and process parameters. Learners will work with SolidWorks Plastics and other simulation tools to optimise part geometry and molding conditions before actual production, reducing errors and tooling modification costs.

In this training you will learn:
  • to apply advanced computer analysis software for plastic injection molding simulations and result interpretation;
  • to model all technological stages – filling, packing, cooling and warpage;
  • to identify and predict common defects such as air traps, weld lines, sink marks or short shots;
  • to assess the influence of mold geometry, gating system, cooling channels and cycle time on quality and efficiency;
  • to analyse material rheological parameters and their impact on the molding process;
  • to make data-driven design decisions by optimising part geometry and cooling systems;
  • to apply numerical analysis in complex plastic molding scenarios.
